Pride in Our Parks 2025

This June marks NPCA’s fifth annual Pride in Our Parks, and we’re inviting the LBGTQ+ community to join us for an event to celebrate and connect with other park lovers as part of our work to ensure parks are equitable and accessible to all.

When: Saturday June 14, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM PT

Where: Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area; exact meetup address provided when you RSVP

What: A day celebrating and connecting with LGBTQ+ park lovers

On June 14, join NPCA for a  Pride in Our Parks event! We’re heading to Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation area, just outside of Los Angeles. We’ll spend the morning hiking in the park, volunteering to support the park's native plants and learning more about the importance of ensuring that parks like Santa Monica Mountains are protected for all to visit and enjoy.

With our partner, Underwood Wine, we’re inviting the LBGTQ+ community to this free half-day event as part of our work to ensure that parks are equitable, accessible places for all to explore.

This event is completely free! NPCA will also provide lunch; just be sure to bring plenty of water and whatever else you need to have a good, safe time on trail.

These events are designed for smaller groups so everyone has the best experience possible. That does mean space is limited and we’ll accept participants on a first-come-first-served basis.

NPCA's work centers around ensuring everyone feels welcome and included in our national parks. We're proud to support the LGBTQ+ community all year, uplifting the voices and visions of LGBTQ+ creators, and continually working to protect history with national park sites like Stonewall National Monument.

NPCA’s partner Underwood believes in the importance of ensuring that national parks are inclusive spaces for all. Since 2014, Underwood has protected natural resources by producing wine in infinitely recyclable aluminum cans.

Please note: All participants will be required to sign NPCA's standard liability waiver and photo release. Trip requirements are subject to change. All NPCA Staff-led experiences will be defined by the NPCA staff member. Each participant is responsible for determining their preferred activity level, accessibility, needs and interests. The event includes a moderate hike, and details about the hike will be provided upon RSVP.
